A longer hose is one option, but there is flow/volume losses in the longer the hose is... As for extension cords, look at nomenclature plate on oxy con and see what its amperage (current) draw is, and get a extension cord that is rated for that amperage application....
My AIRSEP only draws 4.0 Amps by the label on unit, so any extension cord rated 4 amps or LARGER would be ok... To be safe, get cord rated larger than unit draw. I would suggest one that is 8-10 amp rated (pretty common size) and only get one as long as necessary, don't get a 50 foot cord when maybe only a 10 foot cord will do....
